Color Club Kapow!

Color Club Kapow! is a neon pink with a purple sheen. It’s what I would describe as a complete Barbie pink. It is so, so vibrant; definitely not for any shrinking violets among you! It has turned some heads today & this is the first day I’ve worn it. I originally saw this colour on Instagram a couple of days ago on a nail blogger & knew immediately I had to have it. A little bit of research lead me to find it was released in summer 2014, but thankfully I found it still available on Amazon. It was £5 which isn’t unreasonable given how beautiful it is.

Application was okay, it could have been better if the brush was bigger and flatter but it wasn’t a disaster. The formula is a gorgeous jelly which applied patchy on the first coat but evened out with the second. A pleasant surprise was the shine it has, even before a top coat it was shiny, whereas with previous neon polishes I’ve worn this hasn’t been the case and they’ve dried to a matte finish before top coat application.

Barry M Frosted Cupcakes Strawberries & Cream

I’m such a sucker for shimmer & glitter, if it’s sparkly; I have to have it. So as soon as I saw the Barry M Frosted Cupcakes range I knew I’d buy one. The one I chose is Strawberries & Cream, a very pale pink with flecks of white translucent glitter. It genuinely does look like cupcake frosting, especially up close.

This polish is quite similar to the Essence shade Engaged, which I reviewed at Christmas, here. Strawberries & Cream is a lot less satin in its finish though, drying to a shiny but slightly frosted effect. It also has larger flecks of glitter than Engaged. They’re both equally as pretty but I much prefer the finish of Strawberries & Cream. It’s such a delicate colour & would be ideal for a wedding or even just every day wear at work.

Application was easy, the square brush makes it easy to control where the polish goes and the thick consistency of the polish ensures a smooth & even application. Photographs show 1 coat of Essie First Base, 2 coats of colour & 1 coat of Essie Good To Go. Although the polish was perfectly even and opaque after 1 coat, force of habit always compels me to apply 2.

I bought this polish from the Superdrug website here, and it was £3.99. I had to buy online after searching in both big Boots stores & a large Superdrug store in town and finding it sold out in all 3 on 3 separate occasions. I think that speaks for itself and I can certainly see why it is so popular!

Essence Christmas Party Nails

I thought I’d share with you the nails I wore for the Christmas party. I created this look using Essence Engaged and On Air!.

Engaged is a very delicate creme baby pink with a hint of shimmer. It was opaque in one coat but as usual I applied two. It dries to a satin finish, however, after I added a top coat it is shiny the way I like my nails.

On Air! is a fully coverage gold glitter polish and I think one of the best glitter nail polishes I’ve used. It is opaque in 2 coats which is what I applied.

I really can’t rave enough about the quality of these nail polishes especially for their low price! They are so easy to apply due to the flat, square brush and I am developing quite a collection!

Photographs show one coat of Essie First Base, 2 coats of colour and one coat of OPI RapidDry top coat. These nail polishes are available to buy here and in Wilkinsons stores in the U.K.

Nails Inc Shoreditch

This week I have gone for a classic and an old favourite for my manicure and pedicure. Nails Inc Shoreditch is a vibrant Barbie pink and is one of my all time top nail varnishes! It is also one of the first Nails Inc polishes that I bought!

Application is easy, the colour is opaque with one coat but I think it’s always best to apply two. Shoreditch is available to purchase here and is described on the website as a hot pink.

Mavala Mango Orange

This week’s manicure and pedicure is done using a nail polish I got for my birthday from my lush mate Flissy.

Mavala Mango Orange is a pearlescent creamy orange colour, application was smooth and easy. The colour was perfectly opaque after one coat.

I really like this colour, it makes me happy to look at it. Photograph shows one coat of Essie Grow Stronger base coat, two coats of colour and one coat of Essie Good To Go top coat.

Nails Inc Snowflake Whitechapel

Today’s manicure and pedicure is a very special one because tomorrow is my thirtieth birthday and these are my birthday nails!

Last year I missed out on a bottle of the Nails Inc Kensington Church Street Snowflake effect polish due to it selling out very quickly each time it came in stock, so when I received an email informing me of the new Snowflake polish I was determined to get my hands on a bottle.

Nails Inc Snowflake Whitechapel has flecks of gold as well as white glitter, application is perfect due to the newly shaped Nails Inc brush. I’m wearing it over George Street which is a pale minky pink from the In The Nude collection. I think the effect is stunning, this will be my favourite winter combo! I’m thrilled to be wearing this as my birthday manicure and pedicure. I think it would look just as pretty over a pale icy blue colour such as Sheraton Street for a Frozen theme!

Nails Inc Snowflake Whitechapel is comes in very impressive packaging and is available to purchase here
