Barry M Under the Sea – Angelfish

Angelfish is one of the four new polishes in Barry M’s Under the Sea collection. The collection is available from Superdrug which is where I picked this one up for £3.99 having seen them advertised on Instagram.

In the bottle it looks a kinda pale salmony/peachy/pink colour which is why I chose this one. However, on application the colour is completely different; it applies as a pearlescent purple/white without any hint of the peach colour in the bottle. It’s inoffensive & a little bit retro chic but it’s just not what I was expecting.

It’s quite pretty as it shifts in the light, and not entirely dissimilar to the iridescence of Essence Out of Space is the Place which I reviewed last year. The formula is smooth & the brush is easy to use making the first coat of colour opaque.

I don’t dislike this but it’s not what I was expecting from the packaging, we will see if it grows on me! It is, however, really good value for money, especially in comparison to the new Nails Inc mermaid nail polishes.

Nails Inc London Unicorns

So everyone knows I’m Nails Inc’s biggest fan, including my best pal, Mull, who treated me to this amazing Nails Inc gift set for my birthday this week.

The Nails Inc Beauty of Dreams Deluxe Unicorn Beauty Gift Set contains 2 sheet face masks, 1 peel off face mask, a lipstick, a lip gloss & 2 nail varnishes. The nail varnishes are Rainbow Wishes, an iridescent blue/purple/pink and Dream Dust, a pink and gold glitter.

These nail varnishes are soooo me, I love them so much, especially Dream Dust which I currently can’t stop staring at on my ring fingers.

Both nail colours were opaque in one coat, which I was surprised at for Dream Dust, as you usually have to work hard for full coverage glitter – however, not in this case!

I can’t wait to use the rest of the set – but for right now, photographs show how my nails turned out. In the photos I’m wearing one coat of Nails Inc Ridgefiller with Collagen base coat, 2 coats of colour and one coat of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat with Collagen.

I’ve wanted these nail varnishes since they first came out, I’m loving my nails right now – let me know what you think!

Thanks Mull; you’re the best x

Nails Inc Sweet Almonds Powered By Matcha – Mayfair Market

I haven’t blogged about a manicure & pedicure for a while as I haven’t been buying as many new nails polishes. However, when I saw this particular polish via a tweet from Nails Inc, I just couldn’t resist treating myself.

Nails Inc Mayfair Market is a stunningly subtle metallic rose gold. I am so in love with how this polish looks on my nails right now! It’s a light bronze tone which was perfectly opaque after one coat. It claims on the bottle to have a superfood boost, and the polish contains sweet almond oil & matcha to encourage nail wellness.

This polish looks almost nude against my skin colour, it is so shimmery and understated, I think it’s a really wearable alternative to either gold or pink (my two favourite colours!). I haven’t seen a shade like this in a nail polish anywhere before, it is identical to rose gold jewellery and would compliment it perfectly. It also looks great on my toes and I can’t wait until the spring weather gets a bit better so I can wear sandals to show it off.

Application, as always, was so easy with the square brush. Nails Inc make the most beautiful brushes since they changed the shape of their bottles & I am so glad they did. This polish is available to purchase from the Nails Inc website,  although I bought mine from Fenwick in Newcastle.

Nails Inc Optic Wave

How happy was I this week to see that there was a free Nails Inc polish in Boots with every purchase of Colgate toothpaste?! The colours available were blue, green, pink and red. I chose the green polish which I think is called Optic Wave.

Optic Wave is a weird shade in that, it looks mint green in the bottle but goes on a kind of light duck-egg blue. The formula of this polish is quite runny which made it challenging to paint my toes, although with care it was achievable.

It was opaque after one coat but photographs show a base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat.

Nails Inc Fiesta

I just love it when Nails Inc give away free nail polishes with a magazine. This month with Marie Claire you can choose from 4 different Nails Inc shades, I chose Fiesta which is a vibrant pink colour. The formula of this polish is amazing! One coat would have been suffice, which made application easy.

Photographs show a base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat, although these photographs don’t capture entirely the true shade of the polish, in reality it is a deep shade of the pink, the photos make it look brighter than it is. In some lights it is almost red. I’m really pleased with this colour, I don’t usually buy magazines but it was definitely worth making an exception for this free gift. I think this polish will look stunning all through summer, and it looks especially nice on my toes as we speak – I cannot wait until it is warm enough to wear sandals to show it off! If Barbie got a pedicure I think she’d choose Nails Inc Fiesta!

Nails Inc St James Park

The name of this week’s polish is a bit of a homage to the cathedral on the hill in my hometown (even after yesterday’s abysmal result!). Today I have chosen Nails Inc St James Park for my manicure and pedicure, and as a proud Geordie it couldn’t be anymore apt.

St James Park is a bright pink with a hint of coral, it is stunningly shiny and I adore it. The colour goes on smoothly and was perfectly opaque with just one coat. It is completely different to any of the other pinks or corals I own and is the perfect summer colour, it looks gorgeous on toes with sandals. (I know it’s February and I’m in Newcastle, but hey, I’m thinking ahead!)

Nails Inc Charing Cross

Red nails are my absolute favourite so this week’s manicure and pedicure is with a polish I wear quite a lot. Nails Inc Charing Cross is a bright post box red and one the best reds I own by Nails Inc, it’s slightly lighter than Victoria & Albert but slightly darker than St. James.

There’s just something about red nails that makes me so happy, I especially like the way this colour looks on my toes. For a long time red was actually the only colour nail polish I used to wear! For me this is a must have red, if you have any must have red nail polishes feel free to name them in the comments!

Photographs, as always, show a base coat, 2 coats of colour and a top coat. Thanks for reading!
